First Appointment

Dr. Bento Mosca will examine and digitally x-ray the tooth and surrounding area. She will explain the cause and necessity of root canal therapy to you.

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal involves removing the deteriorated pulp from the root of the tooth. The surfaces inside the tooth are then cleaned and a filling is placed.

Root Canal Retreatment

Root canal retreatment involves removal of the crown and packing material, cleansing of the root canals, and the re-packing and re-crowning your tooth.

  • Postoperative Instructions

    After the final visit with Dr. Bento Mosca, you must return to your dentist to have a crown or other restoration placed on the tooth to protect and restore it to full function. Dr. Bento Mosca will usually schedule a six month follow-up examination to evaluate healing.

Welcome to Michelle Bento Mosca

Dr. Bento Mosca earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1996 and postgraduate advanced degree in endodontics in 1998 at Tufts University School of Dentistry. She holds memberships in the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and Rhode Island Dental Association.

Dr. Bento Mosca has been in the field of dentistry for nearly thirty years. She practiced as a dental hygienist prior to returning to graduate school. Her experience has provided her with an excellent sense of the individual needs of each patient. She prides herself in offering a comfortable, caring environment where the patients’ expectations and concerns are paramount.

She is a first-generation Portuguese American and fluent in both English and Portuguese. Dr. Bento Mosca is the first endodontist in the City of Fall River, Massachusetts, and recently opened a second location in Cranston, Rhode Island. Dr. Bento Mosca is licensed to practice in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She was voted Top Dentist of Rhode Island by her peers in years 2014 through 2023.
